We recently updated from v13 to v15.1. We have started getting this error.

Using a SQL Server data base with floating licenses, Corporate Edition. This does not happen all the time. Only occasionally. Happens with multiple object types and profiles (Archimate, UML, locally created MDG profiles). Users can create an object on a diagram, immediately attempt to delete, and get this error.

Checked the community site - doesn't seem like others are reporting this problem. So I surmise that it is of local origin - but v15.1 is checking permissions that were not checked under v13, and throwing an error.

Any ideas as to what is happening?

Thanks in advance.

That doesn't look like a standard EA message box.

I would guess there's this is triggered by a script or add-in.
Search the scripts for the string "You do not have the required permission" and disable all add-ins

Geert. Ah ha. There is an MDG add-on in the model someone developed. They're having access permission issues with it. Sounds like a scoping issue for the add-on. Perhaps. Maybe.

Just FYI re final resolution - thanks Geert. Someone created an MDG add-in that was somehow included in the image for Sparx when we upgraded to 15.1. Even though our work was nothing to do with the work being done with the MDG add-in, it was preventing us from deleting objects in a completely different Root Node / View to the scope of the add-in. Even when you had just created an element on a diagram and wished to immediately delete it. I would infer that add-in was a bit dodgy. But problem gone now having removed the add-in from our clients.
