changing link to embedded diagram
« on: March 16, 2004, 02:31:03 am »
When I double click on the representation of one of my subsystems (lets call it SS1), it gets me to a specific (statechart) diagram that is NOT the one I'd like to see as the top level one behind SS1.

So I have the following question : How would I change / redirect the link to an "embedded" diagram behind a subsystem, or packages or any element.

Thx

EA opens the first diagram directly situated underneath the double-clicked element. So try moving your diagrams in a different order. You cannot pick a random diagram to be opened after double-click.

Well the problem is that there IS a diagram in between the source and the target. When I double click on my SubSystem representation (at the very top), I am automatically redirected toward a diagram that I "may" have created before the right one. And this diagram that I want to show up is clearly located "above" th ewrong one in the tree structure...

I'm not sure then... To be sure to get correct answers, could you state the buildnumber of the EA version you're using?

I have installed version 4.00.721 and... There is still the same problem... a double click on a package redirects me to a diagram that seems to be "somewhere" below in the tree structure... not event the first one in the hierarchy. I think it is the one probably created first within the given package.

I want to believe that the problem comes simply from me and that I just don't know how to change the link... I would be very happy to hear your opinion on that somehow annoying thing.
Many Thx

Hello JP,
probably there is something missing in your problem description. The way Tjerk described it is correct and should work - so there is only an alternative between a) bug in EA and b) something being misunderstood in your description. Is this behaviour only being found in one of your EA files or do you see a general misbehaviour. If so can you give the steps to reproduce?

Regards,

Thomas
