EA v16: MDG Technology for MS Office is missing

The new v16 release appears to not support the MS Office MDG integration - it used to appear in the Specialize tab but is missing.  Does anyone else have the same problem?  I've raised a bug report with Sparx....

As per Sunshine's response.  If you install the 64-bit version, you'll find it doesn't follow the release notes about where to place the 64bit AddIn information.  If you add that info manually, it enables the Addin.

Hi both,

Thanks for your suggestions - I did download and install the 64bit MDG for MSOffice when I downloaded EA16, but it doesn't register.  I also tried pointing EA to the installation folder for the addin (under Program Files) using Specialise-->Technologies-->Manage Technologies but that had no effect (I think because it's expecting to find an XML file description of the MDG but it doesn't exist for the MS Office addin).

Well tried installing the 64-bit version this weekend however like potterm I can't see it in Sparx EA V16 64 bit, as doesn't seem to see it.
What do you mean by the above comment? Looked at release notes and not sure what you mean by add that info manually. what info and how?

Sporry folks, I wasn't explicit enough.  I installed the 32-bit version first and then the 64 -bit.  Thus there was a registered Addin in the 32-bit world (which I checked with 32-bit EA).  I then copied the 32-bit entries manually to the 64-bit Registry path and an Addin showed up in the 64-bit EA.  I didn't test it out.

After installing EA 16 i faced similar issue and found that there was some issue with Registry and changing the path to EAAddins64
 worked.

I think Existing EA Addins will not working as well with EA16 64bit version, as there is a change in the registry settings.

For the EA Addins,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sparx Systems\EAAddins64 - 64bit Addin Registry Path
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sparx Systems\EAAddins  - 32bit Addin Registry Path


For this MDG Office Integration,
I tried Creating a key as "EAWordImporter" and Data as "EAWordImporter.Addin" under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sparx Systems\EAAddins64 similar to 32bit registry entries.
This worked for me.

Many thanks Tafros - that did the trick, although on my system the keys were placed under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, not LOCAL_USER for some reason, but it worked.
