Stop the appearance of stereotype names for specific elements
« on: August 13, 2022, 01:06:21 am »
I have an MDG with various element extensions, is there a way to stop certain elements in the MDG from having the stereotype  name appearing in all diagrams?

I have tried using _HideStype, see https://sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/15.2/modeling/supportedattributes_2.html. But in version 15.2 it does not appear to stop  the stereotype names from appearing, unless I am missing something like Sparx EA not liking stereotypes with spaces in their names.

If this cannot be done out-of-the-box, can it be done through a ShapeScript? Is there a way to control via a ShapeScript what labels are shown for elements and connectors? If so, can somebody point me to right documentation pages as I am having trouble finding them?

Yes, and no. If you create a shape script you can start from scratch and render anything yourself. That might be ok for certain cases but renders awfull for others. Once you go that way you have control over every label. If you use DrawNative you can just adorn the rendering, meaning you get the standard labels without being able to suppress them.

You can suppress stereotype names in diagram properties.
Happy to help

You can suppress stereotype names in diagram properties.
But that will apply to all elements on a diagram...

It will apply to all elements on a diagram. If the same is applied to connectors, it applies to all connectors except those that have been extended through an MDG. This is not the use case.
