BPSim - how to emulate BPMN Sim rendering? (v16)
« on: November 03, 2022, 01:30:57 pm »
When we use BPMN Sim to run scenario simulations against a BPMN process, we get a neat visualisation of the progress of the execution of the simulation (the active item is highlighted as the process moves through its execution).
If we simulate the same process with BPSim, we don't get the same visualisation (or it's so fast as to be useless).  This is understandable since that's not what BPSim is designed for.  It's designed to run repeatedly through a set of probabilities to simulate real-world inputs.
However, if we set the TriggerCount to 1, we can get a single flow, and by setting up the property parameters, we can exercise a specific path through the process.  However, it still is TOO fast!  How can we adjust the time between the active process item to simulate the BPMN Sim rendering?

It seems as though we can't BPMN Sim a BPMN Collaboration Model since Messages can't be handled.  It would seem that the BPMN Sim cannot handle multiple simultaneous execution paths through a process (which the use of Message Flows would generate).  BPSim, on the other hand, can simulate them!

TIA,
Paolo
