Hi,

the post you mention could have been mine. We have for our internal project needs developed a tool for conversion of ERWin models into EA and are currently turning the convertor into a standalone tool that should be released shortly.
In the meantime, should you need to convert ERWin models into EA, you can follow these steps:
1. Export ERWin model into Oracle Designer (menu File > Export). Oracle Designer is available free for non-commercial use at www.oracle.com
2. Use our Oracle Designer - EA convertor to convert the ERD from Oracle Designer to EA

Hope this helps!

Hi,

actually no, that is a tool for reverse engineering of PowerBuilder applications into EA.
The tool you are looking for is here:

www.standardcase.com/download/EAORADES.zip

Prior to running it, you will have to install runtime:

www.standardcase.com/download/PBCLTRT90.zip

Please let me know if you need any assistance!

Bruno,
I was happily using your tool when the requirements changed :). Now I need to evaluate if data/logical models in EA can be migrated to ERWin !!! Is there a tool which can do that ? I was thinking of using XMI export and the ERWin All Fusion Component Modeler or XMI export / import to generate a Rose Model first( I think RR has an integration with ERWin).
Bruno/Other modeling Gurus, can you please advice !!!

Thanks !!

Hi Makarand,

don't you love it when requirements change on you? You may soon find yourself having to integrate EA with Notepad! :-)

The approach you describe should work in theory, ERWin does have import from Rational Rose. There are incompatibilities between EA's and RR's XMI, but you may get lucky.
If it does not work, please do let me know. We have the functionality for a conversion from EA to ERWin (or to Oracle Designer) as well and could make it into a standalone tool if required.

Good luck!

Hi Makarand,

I did not see your post until now! I have asked our developers to prepare the tool (we have the functionality as part of a bigger package we use for our internal projects, so we have to make the convertor to be standalone). As we are pretty busy these days, it won't be ready until the next week. Is that ok?
Please e-mail me and we can discuss this in detail.
