XML schema generation

We are trying to generate xsd from a class model that consists of a root package and sub packages, one sub package per data subject. It doesn't seem to be able to create associations across packages. Nor does it seem to generate a working xsd from the root package diagram which has all of the assocíations regardless of the package they are contained in.

Any advice would be appreciated
