EA16.1 Image Asset background issue with a shared DB
« on: November 04, 2024, 08:50:57 pm »
Hi,

I have a package Image Assets that open fine in a local QEA file with EA16.1 (build 1628) 64 bits.
When I open and import the same package on a central Postgres DB, available via the PCS 5.1.128, images are no longer transparent (rendered with a black background).

I get the same result whether I do an XMI, XEA export/import or copy between EA projects.
It only happens in a prod environment i.e. I can't reproduce the issue with a local Postgres + PCS installation.

Is this a known bug ?

Are you sure it isn't a feature of the image viewer?
Sometimes I get similar behaviour when I use IrfanView.
It then turns out that the default background color is different.

The original image has been copied without any editor.
I found that I don't get the same behaviour between 2 shared EA repositories, both located on the same Postgres DB, available via the same PCS. Existing images are rendered ok, but any new image imported in EA on this DB has a rendering issue.
I will look on the DB server to see any reason why this specific DB leads to such error.

Hi Guillaume,

Please check the option 'Ignore image transparency (requires restart)'. This option might affect the result you mentioned. This is a project-specific option so it is reasonable if the option settings are different in the two projects.

Hi Takeshi,

Thank you, I confirm it has fixed the issue  ;D
I simply had to disable it in the project settings.
