Sparx EA to crash - v17 streamed from Citrix
« on: January 10, 2025, 02:10:47 am »
Hi guys,

Sparx EA v17.0.1703
Citrix environment
MSSQL Database
PCS enabled

So every time I select two objects and still have ctrl key pressed in while going to the align menu, Sparx hangs and crashes shortly with a popup saying the instruction at 0x.... referenced memory at 0x..... The memory could not be read issue.

This behavior can be reproduced on and on.

Is this a bug in this version/build?
Are other having the same behavior?

Thx for you help,

Eve

I'm not familiar with any similar reports and can't reproduce it in 1705.

Can it be reproduced without Citrix?

Ctrl+right click shows provides access to the toolbox. Do you have any pinned pages in the toolbox? Are you using a standard technology? If so, which toolbox is showing?

I think there is a bug in the version, a Citrix compatibility issue, or conflicts with PCS or memory handling.

a Citrix compatibility issue
We don't support running on Citrix, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were compatibility issues.

Hi Eve, this is the first I've heard of it. Is this documented on the website?

I have several clients running EA on Citrix for years without any issues.

System Requirements are specified in a positive way. ie. We support X, rather than we don't support Y.

We don't have a Citrix environment to test in. Even if it mostly works, when an issue comes up we are unable to help.

The same would be said for Parallels and a potentially infinite number of systems that we don't claim to support or explicitly state that we don't support.
