Generate Root Node Model from MDG Technology
« on: September 17, 2015, 07:42:37 pm »
Hello,

I use Enterprise Architect version 12.0.1215.
I have created my own MDG Technology with a template model usable from Model Wizard window when creating a new project.
I have multiple packages in my template model under a parent package.
My goal is to have this parent package included in my template model as Root Node of the project. All tests I made right now create always a new package under a generic Root Node.

Is it possible to set this parent package in my MDG Technology as Root Node ?

An alternative could be to have multiple packages (without parent package) in a unique XMI file but I don't find how to do it.

Thanks for your help and best regards,

No.  New models added via the Model Wizard dialog will always go under the currently selected package (or root node).  It is not possible to have the new model created as a root node itself.

Thanks for your quick reply.

Have you any idea about my alternate solution ?

How can we export multiple packages (without parent package) in a single XMI file ?

This solution could be a workaround to have multiple packages directly attached to the selected package (or root node) where we want to add the MDG template model.

Thanks again and best regards,
