Object Flows in Activity Diagrams

When I add an object flow in a (SysML) avtivity diagram, it gets the "action pin format" (see second picture in the Help section "Object Flows in Activity Diagrams") by default, and I can't figure out how to get the "explicit" format (see first picture)...?

None of the commands under right-click->Pin end(s)-> seems to make any difference, and I can't find any option for this in Tools->Options, but it must be there somewhere??
