Activity diagram vs Block diagram
« on: May 27, 2008, 05:55:04 am »
Perhaps I have misunderstood something about SysML and/or EA here?

I have 2 SysML blocks - A and B - with an InformationFlow from A to B. I right-click on the InformationFlow and (under Advanced->Information  Items Conveyed...) I specify a third block (X) to indicate the kind of information that is transferred.

I then create an activity diagram, with two AllocateActivityPartitions. Under "Advanced->Instance classifier..." I specify A for the first partition, and B for the second partition. I then create an Object flow from an Activity in the "A partition" to an Activity in the "B partition".

Is there any support in EA to keep the static definitions of the block diagram consistent with the dynamic definitions in the activity diagram?

It seems as if I manually must specify in the activity diagram that X flows from A to B (even though I specified such an Information flow in the block diagram...?).

Thanks in advance!
