Code generation: different dir's for .cpp and .h
« on: May 25, 2005, 01:58:06 am »
Dear forum members,

I've used EA for a few projects and it is great. But now I have a little problem and I didn't find a solution in the documentation.

I want to use EA together with a development environment, that holds source and header files in different directories.

<somepath>/ProjectName/src/*.cpp
<somepath>/ProjectName/inc/*.h

How can I tell EA, that it should generate header files in .../inc and source files in .../src directories?

With Rational Rose I can create component diagrams with headers and bodies and define a filenpath and name for each element. Is there something similar in EA, too?

Any help will be welcome.

Greetings from Hamburg (Germany)

Hello Dimi,

Currently there is no way to do this in EA.

We are planning to do it though, just not sure when.

Simon,

We are having the same problem, essentially preventing us from using EA for round trip engineering.

Do you have any update on the status of this?

Thanks,

Paul.
