Tagged Values for Table columns
« on: August 18, 2009, 01:52:24 am »
I can't add tagged values for table columns trough the new tab in the column property window. The new value button is disabled.
I can add it trough the 'old' tagged values window so it's not an access problem.

The new feature works fine for other types of objects.

I'm using build 847.

What happens if you add a new column, then save the column, then try to add a tagged value? Is the function still disabled?

There are several dialogs in EA when a new 'thing' needs to be saved before some properties can be set or added. These tend to be related to new features (in the UML sense) of elements, and columns are stereotyped attributes (that is, structural features) of stereotypes classes (that is, elements).

This is just a guess so don't spend any more time than necessary on it. But whether this works might be a useful detail if you end up filing a bug report with Sparx. [Using the Report a Bug link near the bottom of any forum page.]

Please let us know whether or not this works (or has any effect).
No, you can't have it!

No, it does not work. Is like the all feature is not working. Even tagged values added by the old window are not visible in the new tab on the properties window.

I'll open a bug report. I posted here just in case  :-/

When you say "new tab" which tab are you referring to? If you mean the tagged values tab, that's interesting.

I was noticing some transient behavior regarding this tab the other day but did not have time to isolate it. In my case the tab was only partially visible, and only then until I did various things using the Propertied dialog (including just browsing the contents). After that the tab seemed to disappear altogether. I think the Tagged Values window was still working, but I really could not put any more time into it at the time. Since then it has kind of slipped my mind...

PS: I was using Build 847.

I'm referring to the new tab (since build 846), in the element properties window, to manage the element tagged values.

The only element I have problems with is the column / attribute. It seems to work fine with other element types.

Another problem with tagged values for table columns (or class attributes).

If you set a tagged value (trough the tagged value window because tagged value tab in properties windows still not working) for a table column or classe atribute and, after that, you modify the notes field a nd save it, you loose the tagged values you've set before.

Definitely, there's a big problem with tagged values for table columns or classe attributes!  :(
