This can be done in an Activity diagram, but not directly in a StateMachine. So it requires the use of Activity models. You would need to use the entry/do/exit behavior of a State to call an Activity moedl that provides those actions.
Not all languages that can be generated out do support this type of reference. However, if you are generating out code for a language that allows you to do that, then yes.
