Relationships window - self needs deemphasis
« on: March 22, 2012, 05:19:29 pm »
In the Relationships window, the vertex which is the focus of window should be deemphasised (such as by "graying out").  This would allow the user to more easily determine the directionality of the relationship.  For example, both Generalizations and Specializations are shown as "Generalization".  So it can be difficult to tell if the focus vertex is being generalized or specialized.  With this enhancement in place, it would be easier.

Thoughts?

Or maybe they mimic the L (/L-Alt) behaviour dynamically when hovering over the single relations?

That's an option.

But with complex eneterprise-wide models, I just want to be able to look down the list and see which relationship is going in which direction...

As I have previously written (years ago in: Directedness and Navigability of Edges),
EA conflates directionality and Navigability so looking at the Direction column isn't enough.
