Error with Version control
« on: June 29, 2012, 02:26:09 am »
Hello,
I am using version 9.3.933 of Architec enterprise (Corporate Edition). Connection is working with a database Oracle 11g. With security enabled. The EA is running on machines with Windows XP.
When trying to configure the version control with Subversion, I can not configure settings, getting the following error message: "The Following SVN command did not complete within The the 30 second time-out interval" C: \ SNV \ bin \ svn. exe "info - xml - incremental" https:// 10.253.1.2/svn/EA_Repository "Do I whis to allow more time to complete it?

I've increased the time to 300 seconds, but I get the same message.
I run from the command line command:
 "c: \ EA_Repository \ svn.exe info - xml - incremental" https://10.253.1.2/svn/EA_Repository "
and get the detail of the connection to the repository. That is, the machine where I am running the EA can be connected to the repository.
Obviously there is set a working directory on the client machine that connects to the repository and can send and receive information from the repository, and the client machine is configured subversion client.
Any idea what could be the problem?

 regards

It might be an issue with the kind of svn client you are using. EA is kinda picky on which client you use.
Last time I used that I installed something from collabnet I think.

Searching the forum for SVN should give you quite some useful results.

If all that doesn't help try contacting Sparx support.

When you set your working folder with Tortoise (or SVN) did you as SVN to remember you authentication credentials?

This error looks as if SVN is requesting authentication from EA which it cannot supply.

Just connect to your SVN repository, set SVN to remember your credentials and try again

Cheers

Phil

Thanks Phil,

Indeed the problem was that there was to remind the client's authentication credentials.

Such error messages are quite annoying. Couldn't the message simply say: authorization failure?

I see the same phenomena every time I create a new package. If I wait the package is created immediately. I think this is indeed a bug unrelated to the lenght of the timeout.

Do you still have this issue even with EA9.3.934? After setting the VC Time-Out value from the default 30 to 60 the problem is no longer a problem (at least for me)  ;).
