Re-synch VC Status
« on: October 04, 2012, 09:31:31 pm »
Hi all,

Could someone explain to me why I need to keep on resynching my packages with the vc provider? Quite often I find that after  do a check-in branch, all of the packages are updated on the server and the packages are marked as checked in on my machine but on my colleagues machine when he tries to check out, he can't so I then have to go over each subpackage and resynch status, then re-check in each package which is then marked as checked out again.

Surely this is a bug. It is good that we have the ability to correct the bug but how does EA get into this state in the first place?
Also, if this cannot be fixed quickly (or is not recognised as a bug), would it be possible to add the facility to "resynch all" which would resynch all subpackages as well.
Going further, could then get the option to do a resynch all after a check in all - this would then instantly highlight all packages which didn't check in correctly (In fact, it would then be possible for EA to redo the checkin).
