Subversion repo and Linux (via wine)?
« on: December 05, 2012, 01:12:12 am »
I just installed EA on Linux via wine and this project I need it for uses a subversion repository. When I try to configure it, the dialog only gives me the option of searching for a "SVN Exec" file, I cannot select the /usr/bin/svn file.
How can I accomplish this on linux?

Thanks!

You'll need to install an appropriate (Windows!!) SVN client in the EA wine bottle. E.g.  Slik SVN would do well.

Yeah, I was afraid that would be the only solution... After struggling a little bit with TortoiseSVN I got it working.
Thank you!

Tortoise SVN is not a suitable command line SVN client for use with integration in EA.

TortoiseSVN 1.7 will optionally install a command line. I'm using it and it works, but I'm not doing anything very complicated. Actually, I just update to get the latest reviews from other tem members.
Should I expect anything not to work properly? Everyboy else here is using TortoiseSVN as well...

Thanks!

That's a newer version of Tortoise SVN I've never tried, seems that even this command line option is new. Slik worked (and works) fine for me and is also free.
