Advanced-->Make Composite missing in EA 9.3 Pro Ed
« on: December 25, 2012, 07:39:32 pm »
Hi,
I am using a registered version of Enterprise Architect 9.3 (Professional).

My biggest problem is, I am not getting the Advanced|Make Composite menu in context sensitive help upon clicking right click on the element (use case, class whatsoever) in any diagram. Please help me, I have become fed up after trying for the last 24 hours.

Thanks,
Jayanta

It might be a View/Workspace/Commands issue. Check that Complete is set.

What exactly are you seeing in the right-click menu at the moment?  If you are only seeing a list of element types (i.e. as seen in the toolbox) when you right-click in the diagram, it's possible that Windows StickyKeys might be active and holding in either the Shift or Ctrl key.

Otherwise, as qwerty suggested, you might have selected a Command Set which has hidden this menu option.

Open: View | Workspaces and Commands > Commands.

To make all available menu options visible, select the "Complete" command set.

I just figured out that this function has completely changed in version 10.

Now there's a new context menu "New Diagram" that allows you to either create a new composite structure diagram, or select a diagram to be used a the composite diagram.

That is pretty cool, no more explaining the 5-step trick to link an existing diagram as the composite diagram  ::)
