Advanced > Make Composite
« on: February 13, 2013, 02:31:11 pm »
I've just upgraded to EA10 and when I right-click on an Activity in a UML Activity diagram, I expect to see the menu option Advanced > Make Composite.

I no longer see it...has it gone somewhere else?

Thanks,
Saul

It has gone to a better place. Try New Diagram > Composite Structure Diagram.

You will find there is also a New Diagram > Select Composite Diagram command that allows you to change the diagram that is hyperlinked to the composite element.

Someone at Sparx seems to think it's a good idea to move menu positions at each release. No! It is not a good idea. Users get confused and companies have to pay for additional training.

Fair point, but in this particular case it is a bit more than moving the command - it has been split into two parts (creating the link and choosing the linked diagram) as requested by this forum many times in the past ;)

It's not all bad with moving menus if you once come to a point. In the past almost each new version had significant changes in the menu structure. It would be nice if someone sits down, creates a useful menu structure (and possible one that's extensible without re-learning everything).

I think, the current is (more or less) in a state one can live with.
