Unable to create Virtual Documents
« on: August 17, 2006, 04:09:38 am »
Hi all,

I am a new EA user, wish to generate the virtual documents with specific needs and sequence for a reverse engg. project.

EA Version: EA Corporate Edition
                  6.1.792 Build 792 - unicode
                  Database Version 4.01 Date 31 Jan-2004

Problem:
I followed the instruction specified in the help guide for creation of docs, but still unable to generate. Here are the steps

1. Create a new class diagram.

2. From the UML Toolbox, drag the Class icon onto the diagram to create a new class. Name the class

3. In the Stereotype field of the Class Properties dialog, enter Model Document.

4. Added packages appropriately.

5. Created the documentation using sample templates available.

Output Visible:

Only the top level class diagram is visible, i even included the child packages and even the template support the documentation for sub packages.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Rahul Goel.

Rahul,

I had the same problem. However, you can get the document class contents to appear by following these steps:

1. Select the model document class in the Project View (nb: select the class, not the package)
2. Use the menu bar (not the context menu) and select Project | Documentation
3. Follow the submenus and proceed as normal.

The packages added to the document class will appear in the report.

Unfortunately, the name of the class does not appear in the title. Neither do you get a top level section with the contents of the document class.

Cheers,
Dave
