RTF format going forward
« on: September 13, 2012, 11:50:46 am »
According to Microsoft's Office 2010 resource kit documentation, Microsoft is discontinuing enhancements to the RTF specification. Further, some new features in Word 2010 and later versions will not save properly to the RTF format.

I hope that Sparx will consider moving to the non proprietary and standard open document format for document generation, and linked documents.

Within word 2010 we had not seen any deviations to word 2007-output. The output of the EA rtf-document saved as *.doc with word 2007/2010 and 2003 is equal and all three versions are validated against the input and expected result from the EA model.

I would prefer the output to word*.doc solution.

Good to see other formats like DocX being supported rather than just RTF in Document Generation. Good on you Sparxs.  :)
Happy to help
