interrupted get all latest process
« on: April 29, 2014, 06:43:19 pm »
Hello,

during a get all latest command, the EA process hang (or any other process blocked the machine) and we had to reboot the machine.

Now we get every time trying to checkout a package the following dialog:

---------------------------
EA
---------------------------
A 'Get All Latest' command, invoked on this model by user xxx, is not yet complete.

It is recommended that you wait until 'Get All Latest' completes before checking-out.
(If you proceed, there is a risk of losing data from the model.)

Do you wish to proceed with this check-out?
---------------------------
Yes   No
---------------------------

Of course this is nonsens, because the machine was even rebootet multiple times.

So how can we get rid of the dialog and behavior?

Best regards
MS

Try Project/Version Control/Re-Sync

Hello,

no, this is not the problem.
There seems to be an entry in the database.
All clients and all packages are affected.

A resync doesn't help.
We have to get rid of the central database entry/tag.

If you know that no-one is importing then you can press Yes. It's likely that someone interrupted an import (eg. by killing EA because they thought it was taking too long)

Hello Simon,

thank you for your answer, but this is not the answer for my question.

The question was how to get rid of the message, not how to handle it.

The dialog appears again and again on every client for every package.
We have hundreds of packages and up to hundred clients.

With just pressing OK, we can proceed working, but the message occurs again, the next time.

So please help with what we have to do to get rid of the problem.

Best regards
Sanders

I still think that my first answer is the solution. However, you should contact Sparx support to find the right solution.

Hmm. I think I've seen that message and was able to fix it with a re-sync. Anyway, to fix your problem you should remove all packages from the repository and then load them back from VC. This way you would keep all reference data. Alternatively you could first transfer the repository to a second one and remove/load the packages there. That would take you on the save side. You should lock work on the model during the transfer.
