Sizing when notes shown (11.06)
« on: May 10, 2014, 01:55:10 pm »
When notes are shown in an entity,

it is not possible, using the cursor keys, to reduce the height of the objects, it reaches a point where it refuses to shrink any further!

Further, if you try an Alt-Z on it you get

Apart from the fact Alt Z doesn't get it right either, I think the design decision that prioritises changing width first is wrong.

Support information:
resizing
This issue has been reported previously by another user also and is logged as a bug to be fixed. We cannot yet say when (in which build) the fix will be implemented.

Reference Number: 12124250

As a current workaround it appears you can avoid the unwanted space by selecting the element and enabling the "Element | Feature Visibility", "Show Notes" and "Render Formatted Notes" options.

Alt-Z
Our developers advised that this is currently intended. The Autosize is intended to resize the element to the smallest possible size from it's initial default size and make sure it can contain any text on the element. It will wrap text to ensure the smallest possible fit on width.
This behavior could be improved when displaying notes on an element (as shown in your screenshot). I will submit a feature request on your behalf so that this is considered for implementation in a future release.
