Author Topic: How to install BPMN add-in for all users of PC (Read 7057 times)

Hi,
We are a small local university and we have licenses of EA for education. We need to install BPMN add-in on classroom computers for all of students. Our administrator installed add-in with "for all users" choice in installing wizard, but students doesn't see BPMN submenu in Add-Ins menu of EA. Students cannot install the add-in, they doesn't have rights for installing the software. Resetting of menu doesn't resolve the problem.
Can somebody help us? How can students access BPMN submenu of installed add-in when they cannot install the add-in again?

There was something with Tools/Customize/Menu/Reset in that context. You might fiddle around or try to find the right thread here...

I have tried to reset menu (see my first post), but it doesn't help to display BPMN add-in submenu

Information about Add-ins are stored in HKCU registry.
So, you need to copy registry key of installed user to all other users.

Whole path is:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sparx Systems\EAAddIns\BPMN

It would be nice to have this option at install time. The main EA product does this, if I remember correctly. Certainly many software products allow it.

Perhaps MDG add-ins could default to the availability setting of the EA installation instead of hard-wiring to the current user.

Thank you for advice, but I don't know if it is usable for us. Classroom computers uses many of students... I need to consult it with our administrator.
Install wizard option would be much better
