Ahhh - that could be the common denominator here - we too are using MS Application Virtualization...are all other seeing this error using MS App Virtualization ?

Before I say anything else, we don't have an environment here that allows us to test application virtualization. But I am assuming that you have been using it in that environment without issue.

It seems to me that something external to EA has changed that is causing your issue.

The Microsoft App-V team blog recently reported on a Microsoft patch that caused issues with app virtualization, and how to fix it.

Please follow the instructions on that page (or uninstall the patch) and see the the problem is resolved.

The blog post from the MS App Virtualization team refers to problems when loading applications.

In our case Sparx loads fine. The problem is these "Error Writing XML File" message boxes that we get when deleting elements or when exporting to XML.

It is not necessarily a problem with App virtualization.

No, it's not necessarily a problem with App Virtualization. But I'm aware of 3 people with this problem (2 on this thread and one via email) who have confirmed they are using application virtualization and none that have reported they aren't. I don't think that's a coincidence.
