Linking to locked elements
« on: April 16, 2015, 01:19:08 am »
We have sections of our models that need to be locked once it passes V&V. The issue is that as we develop other sections, we must link (associative) to elements within the locked model. Once we lock the section though, EA prevents this linking. Any suggestions?

Thanks

EA has specific rules of behavior when dealing with locked elements.  Open up the help and do a search on "Add Connectors to Locked Elements".

It will explain four Lock Scenarios.  At least you'll know how it is behaving for your situation.

Linking a new element to a locked element  that has been validated or adding a new element to a diagram that has been validated and locked requires re-validation.

What are you modelling? I can think of a few exceptions to what I wrote above depending of what you are modelling.
