Auto-capitalization?
« on: April 24, 2015, 03:29:05 am »
Haven't used EA 12 much-- but have been using EA since version 8-- and for the life of me I can't find how to disable auto-capitalization for table columns-- which seems to be a new "feature" in 12?

Joke aside. I personally find this particularly annoying. I have asked the very same question on a separate thread and got no answer.

Furthermore, I think this a new feature (intended or unintended) of EA12; I have done data modelling with EA before and do not recall the column names being auto-capitalize.

Fully aware of this, but would you be too surprise if the is a setting hidden deep into EA to control this? I wouldn't be the first time.

I haven't found that setting yet and still hope I will bump onto it accidentally or somebody points that setting out to the community.

I found out today that the Columns and Constraints dialog is the one creating the problem. The foreign key creation dialog does not change the case.  :)

You can create a foreign key constraint named FK_Abc_Def by creating an association between both tables. But as soon as you try editing the name in the Columns and Constraints dialog to for example FK_Abc_Def1 EA12 upper cases everything and you end up with FK_ABC_DEF1.
