Linked document and element update time
« on: August 28, 2015, 05:58:48 pm »
Hi all,

If I've got a «Document» and I edit its contents, the element update time is unchanged. This would only be a minor annoyance if not for the fact that the element is not marked as modified in a baseline comparison.

Is this by design or a bug? I'm on EA 11, btw.

Hi Uffe,

If you mean a Document created from the Artifacts toolbox page, then under 1215 it does update the modified time - BUT I had to leave the element and come back to it (on the diagram or the browser).

EAUI maybe?

HTH,
Paolo

Hey Paolo,

It seems to depend on the DB engine. The date is updated correctly in a SQL Server database, but not in a JET one.

Could you confirm that it works on JET in 1215?

I just tested it. The properties window updates the (display of the) modification time only after de-/reselecting the artifact. But it updates.

OK, so that's just an 11 thing that's been fixed in 12.

Thanks, guys.

I retried with 1107 and it worked correctly too.

Weird. I'm on 1112 and it doesn't work.

... You are testing on a JET database, right?

Hi Uffe,

it was a Jet4 DB.  We (effectively) ONLY use Jet4 (and SQL Server).
