Bug in dragging object to diagram
« on: December 28, 2001, 05:45:47 am »
When dragging object (Use case diagram) to a diagram (Business Model Diagram) - after you select the object, click and drag it - if the poiner still moves up or down on the object list, it changes the selection. So to complete the procedure OK, you must drag horizontally to the diagram and only then to move up or down.
This is a bug, the selection should be done by clicking (mouse down) and not to change until released.

Hello,

The action you are describing is actually performing as designed.  While you are in the drag operation the highlight is changing because it is indicating where you might drop the selected object (because you can drop inside the tree as well.  ie moving an object), not what object is selected.  Hope this explains the matter.

In your words, When you click down, the drag object should be picked and not changed, only the drop is still unknown. The problem is that the source (the dragged object) can (and does) change while dragging (down or up) until you move it to the diagram.
