EALite Feature Request

Hi,

Thanks for a great product.

IMHO, the EA read-only version (EALite) should support the following new capabilities:

1) Create/Modify Change
2) Create/Modify Issue
3) Create/Modify Hyperlink
4) Merge Changes, Issues and Hyperlinks
5) Optional Change, Issue linking to a model element

The developers using EALite could mark Changes implemented (1) and Issues solved (2) and fill in the necessary details.

On the other hand, customers could save new change requests to the read-only models delivered to them and we could merge (4) or import them back to our existing production model (with selection control, of course).

Hyperlinks would also benefit the modeler/developer or customer/supplier communication.

These new capabilities would help project management and perhaps even prevent the need to implement separate process to handle design/implementation-time feature request, change control etc.

Hi Jan,

An interesting idea - I can certainly see the value in allowing others to update 'non-model' information from the project management perspective. EALite is currently opened in read-only mode - and would require a reasonable amount of work to open up.

I will have a think about the implications of this and see what occurs.
