Importing From Poseidon Argo format
« on: January 25, 2002, 09:09:21 am »
We have started some UML modeling in the Poseidon software which saves its data in its Argo XML format.  We are now switching to EA.  Can able advise us as to how we could possibly import an Argo file into EA?   Thanks.

Hello,

I am not familiar with Argo, however doing a quick search on the internet, it appears like you can get it to export to a XMI file. This file can then be used to import into EA, assuming it is using the correct format.  The problem with XMI is that there are many different formats, and I would suggest that you try a combination of options and see which one gives the best results.

Hope this helps.

Paul,
Thank you for your prompt feedback.  We were indeed able to study your XML format and recreate our XML file accordingly and import our model into EA.  It was wonderful to see the classes and associations show up automatically!  Thank you very much for building EA and for offering it at a reasonable price.  Regards,
Raj
