Asynchronous calls on Sequence Diagram

Hi,

When I create an asynchronous call on a sequence diagram I find that the length of activation for the calling object extends to the length of activation for the object called asynchronously. Is this behaviour correct?

Hello,

I have looked thru a few references and this issue seems to be generally avoided. Most examples show Asynchronous calls with activation for the entire object lifetime. I will chase this up and see if there is a 'correct' interpretation
