Show conceptual class diagram
« on: November 13, 2006, 12:30:44 am »
Is it possible to show classes in a class diagram as rectangle-with-name-only? That is, without compartments?

In the same line: is it possible to only show the attribute's name? That is, without the ":" and without the visibility?

Thanks in advance,
Arjen

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your response.
Ctrl-Shift-Y does not quite realise what I wanted. E.g. when I don't show attributes and operations, still the lines that make up their compartments are visible. I only want a rectangle with a name.

Furthermore, I know it is possible to  either show or not show attributes. However, for an attribute, I want to hide the "+" or "-" sign indicating its visibility and the ":" that precedes the type.
E.g. instead of "+ age:", I want "age".

Hope these two are possible as well.

Arjen,

Put in a formal request to Sparx.

I, too, have wanted to get rid of the additional compartment lines.  It seems to me that if you uncheck the [ ] Attributes and [ ] Operations checkboxes (in the Visible Compartment group  of the Diagram Properties dialog) you are explicitly telling EA NOT to show those compartments.  EA should thus NOT render them...

In your feature request, put a link back to this forum topic.

HTH,
Paolo

In Diagram optiones you have "Show visibility indicators" - that can hide "+" and "-".

For ":" I don't know any solution.

It's possible to change size of a class, when attributes and operationes are hidden. In this way you can "hide" separation lines.

It's also possible to empty a dam, one teaspoonful at a time...  ;D

For not showing the colon set the attribute type to '<undefined>'.  Alternatively, wait until build 801 is released, upgrade and don't specify a type.
