Use cases and Collaboration
« on: April 02, 2002, 07:58:59 am »
I am a bit unclear about the usage of Collaborations in use case diagrams. I am doing a project for a technical training institute in which one of the use cases is "Enroll Students".  This process involves various steps e.g. creating a person , assigning login capabilities for distance learning, checking for payment, assigning class and mailing notification.

Since it involves a number of other steps, I have defined "Enroll Students" as a collaboration.

What significance does this have really? How does it help in forward engineering and general architecture?
