Installing patches
« on: August 10, 2002, 09:35:57 am »
The installation instructions for installing the Build 501 patch are the same as the Build 500 patch.  When I installed Build 500, ea.exe was copied to ea310.exe.  Do I now need to delete the (Build 499) ea310.exe, rename the current (Build 500) ea.exe to ea310.exe and then extract Build 501 ea.exe?  Do I even need ea310.exe?

TIA,

J.D.

Hello,

The ea310.exe file is only kept for backup purposes, ie if you upgrade to the new version and then find for some reason you want to revent back to the previous version, you can rename ea.exe to something else and then rename ea310.exe back to ea.exe.  However if you would prefer to use another naming standard (like including the build number) you could do that.  We didn't use this standard because this could leave many versions of the application on the machine.  I hope this answers your questions
