Printing Class Diagrams
« on: September 13, 2002, 01:50:31 pm »
I have a class diagrams that spans 3 pages.  I have not been able to create a successful printout of my class diagrams. I want to be able to print all 4 pages and them duct tape them together.  Just like other modeling packages do.  Is there anyway to print individual pages of the class diagrams?

Thanks

Hopefuly this will help.  In the diagram properties, there is an option to 'Show Page Border'.  This nicely shows where the page will break in the diagram.  Now, to make full scale printing, make sure the 'Scale Printing to 1 Page' in the diagram properties is unchecked.  Now when you print, you should be able to select the pages you want to print in the print dialog box.

I tried what you mentioned. It didn't work at all. The printing is pathetic.  First of all, EA sends out the printout as one page. Then it expects manual feed.  Thirdly it prints out in portrait mode despite the fact that I've set it up as landscape.

Can the developers of the software please help!

Here is more help...

EA sends out the printout as one page

This sounds like the diagram property 'Scale Printing to 1 Page' is checked.  If it is not, then maybe this is a printer setup issue.

it expects manual feed

This most definately sounds like a printer setup issue.  I know I have several tray to direct output and manual is one option.

Again, printer setup issue.  You can override the page orientation from the printer setup dialog box.  If you want portrait to be the default, you will need to set this up.  From the Menu, select View -> Options.  Select Diagrams from the tree.  Off to the right, there is a 'Page Setup' button.  Click this and make the appropriate choices in the dialog.

Hopefuly this will get you further.  If this fails you, try printing to another printer.  Other information that will be helpful to getting this resolved is:
EA version and build
Operating System and patch #
Printer Model

Don't give up.  A solution is out there.
