active objects in sequece diagram
« on: October 25, 2002, 02:15:57 am »
We recently startd using UML, and through the forrest of UML tools EA is by far our favorite.

Sequence diagrams is always a problem with most of the tools. EA works great, exept, offcource, i have a question about the sequence diagram.

We develop embedded systems, and therefor, some processes or objects are always active. However, i can't control the active period in sequence diagrams. Is this possible, does anyone of you have examples of that ?

Also, it could be a proces/object is busy with a task, until it's stopped by another process, until it is stopped, it's uposed to be active. Also here i can't figure out how to control the active period.

Thanks in advance,

Johan Schuld

Hi Johan,

Could you send me a little picture of the sort of thing you wish to do. If no way exists at the moment Ill see what could be done in the future to make it possible. I can think of a couple of possible solutions - but it would help to see exactly what you had in mind first.

You can email me on [email protected]

Cheers,
