Import to Rational rose
« on: January 13, 2003, 11:49:07 am »
I have a project model in EA and need to import it to rational rose to pass it to other group.
Could anybody please explain me how exactly I do that. I have read in few posts and gather that its possible to import the model to rational rose.

thanks

Hello vitthal,

You can do it by using XMI file.
1. export your model to XMI file
  (by Unisys/Rose format)
2. import it to Rational Rose
(You may need XMI Add-in, distributed in Rational web site.)

The detail about 1., please read help file.

Hi Vitthal,

I have tried this and cannot get it to work :'(

Even when I export the model and try to re-import it into EA, I get errors.

If you do manage to do this please let me know

Many thanks,

Fintan

Thanks Takeshi, it worked.
Fintan, you have to download Unisys rose xml addins from rational site and install it.
1. Export EA model or package in Unisys/rose format.
2. In rational rose use, Tools -> Import UML Model and import xml file created in step 1.
