EA-ReqPro 1.0 in Beta!
« on: December 22, 2002, 06:35:26 pm »
Hi all!

I am very happy to say that we've finally got to a point where we are in formal BETA with EA-ReqPro.  We've updated the Fact Sheet page off our web site with features added starting with Build 25 and now with Build 28.   All registered Alpha/Beta testers with user names and password, please download at your convenience and remember... nothing is sacred so tear it apart!

We will be working off and on over the next couple of weeks so there will be more features and things added as we approach formal release.   We've also added a press release about the Beta and will be adding a price listing and a "directional white paper" some time after the first of the year.

And speaking of that, to all of you out there, may the blessings of the Holiday Season be upon you all and your families and may this be the VERY best of New Years!

Cheers!

Hi All,

We've just uploaded Build 29 of the BETA.   This new version has one new unique feature.  We've added versioning to the repository.   This means once a project has been "locked down", you can simply version it to create a new repository with all of the older version information carried over.   This does require the main EA-ReqPro table in the \Program Files directory to being deleted and re-created.

We've also added a Print Summary output option.   The web site has been updated for immediate download.

Thanks again,

Steve

Hi Y'all,

Build 31 is available for downloading.  We've added the Report Builder, which is the next-to-last step to building RUP-based documentation.  There are also some new listings, reports, and metrics.

Thanks again,

Steve

Dunno whether I'm getting blind in my old age, but I can't for the life of me see the link you're referring to for this beta, Steve. Sounds like it might be an EA version of Requisite Pro, and if so, it's something I'd be very interested in. Anything to get away from that clunky Rational interface. Can you give us a pointer to the page?

---------Update-------------
Ah, it's not on the EA site. People of my advanced years get confused about these things. Found it on your http://www.world-eit.net/ea/index.shtm site.

John,

Glad you found the site and the link.

"Sounds like it might be an EA version of Requisite Pro, and if so, it's something I'd be very interested in. Anything to get away from that clunky Rational interface. "

It is indeed!  We're also adding Six Sigma-specific things to it and adding some Caliber-specific things were approrpiate.   Our objective is to offer a more feature-rich, price alternative than what Rational and others are continue to offer.

Thanks again,

Steve

Hi All,

A new version was uploaded yesterday with the Jet dll's.   If all goes well, we should conclude the Beta cycle for this product next month.   We'll have complete pricing available at that time.

Thanks,

Steve
