changes, issues & reqs in code gen
« on: June 10, 2003, 06:48:53 am »
Hi,

does any one know how to get the modification history generated at the top of a code file to update. What I want to do is enter comments in the code for
Issues
Defects
Changes
etc and have these synchronise with the EA model.

If any one out there knows how to do this I'd appreciate knowing :)

Many thanks

Leslie

Leslie,

We are working on a solution integrating these items along with external artifacts and version control along with test scripts and things of this nature.   This "solution" is in a product we are developing called EPG-DefectAndIssueControl.  If you are familiar with ClearQuest then you will get the general idea of this product.  The current design does indeed integrate with those items entered in EA.   We are currently accepting BETA applications for this so if you are interested, please pop over to our site at http://www.EnterpriseProcessGroup.com and complete the Beta Application for EPG-DefectAndIssueControl.

Hope this helps to some degree.

Cheers,

Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm not sure if we are talking at crossed purposes here. What I want to do is get the Issues and modification history to synchronise between the model and the code. I'm not looking for another tool to do defect tracking. EA creates a modification history block at the top of the code but I cannot find a way to update this in the code so that it is picked up in the modelwhen I synchronise.

Leslie,

I'm not sure if we are however, one of the things we're doing is sync-ing up the issues with the various models within EA.   The idea is that an 'issue' is a ticket item that can be synced with various items within EA and will remain associated and 'open' until 'closed' by a member of the team.   Once an "issue" is closed and the model locked along with the generated code, then keeping those in sync is a different point (and no longer an 'issue' per se) that we're not addressing at this time, but will.

Cheers,

Steve
