EA use in multiple developer environment
« on: November 25, 2003, 11:42:38 pm »
The company i work for has just had seom training on UML and EA and are really impressed.  We are about to start using EA as part of a major internal project and i was hoping someone could point towards some documents or describe (in a bit of detail) how we use EA in a multiple developer environment.  I know you can use a DB to store a project, then there is the use of something like CVS and finally the security as well.

We have a team that is on 3 sites and are looking to have all three sites working on the document in EA.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Carl

Hi Carl

The EA Corporate version allows you to lock packages in a model file so that more than one developer can work on the same model.  You can also import/export packages to XMI (the XML model format).  This lets you import the package(s) into a model file, change them, then export them back out and check them into CVS/Source Safe/etc.  We find this the best way to work.

I remember there have been some discussions about this topic on here....there are a couple of links below that might help, but I'm sure there are more.
