Unable to open eap file - unrecognized database fo
« on: March 16, 2004, 10:53:48 am »
Running EA version 3.6.660 Professional and 3.6.650 Corporate with the eap file on a common file share. Just went through all UCs and numbered them, prepend to the elt name.

Now both users get when trying to open the project:

An Error has Occurred: Unrecognized database format....

We are dead in the water. Please advise.

Its probably been converted to a Jet 4 format - Open the EAP file in Access 2000/XP, if it has been converted just use the database utilities to save it back to 97 format.
Otherwise - try using the compact and repair in Access to correct it (using a copy of course!)
Otherwise - back to the drawing board I guess.

Oh I forgot, we aren't doing him are we.

Another alternative: open any eap file, select Tools | Options | and check the "Use JET 4" box. Restart EA and open the suspect eap file.

I ever happened the issue just because of the .EAP file was read only, change the file property to "archive" and then it works.
