Example deployment diagrams
« on: April 04, 2004, 11:29:44 pm »
Have been looking at the example deployment diagrams. Where are the attribute values for the nodes set ? For example, there are multiple Dell PowerEdge 2650's, that have different configurations (attribute values), such as RAM = 2 x 2048 MB, etc. These values show up on the "node" but I am not sure how they are set and how one can update them ? Thanks, for your help!

Select the element. Press F9.

Cheers, Thomas

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, the F9 only displays the attributes, I dont see any place where I can see the existing values for the nodes. I am referring to the deployment diagram (for example, I have the "Zurich Office Deployment Model" page open and selected the ZH0002: Dell PowerEdge 2650 item. It shows a Disk Controller = RAID 5, Disks = 3 x 9.1 GB, RAM = 2 x 2048 MB, Processor = .... )  How do I see the values, say, how do I modify the Disks from 3 x 9.1 GB to 5 x 18 GB ?

G'day,

Lookup "Define a Run-time Variable" in EA's help file.

Cheers and best regards.

Thanks for your help!! For some reason this feature that you describe worked only after we upgraded to version 4.00. i.e. it popped up a Run-time window in version 4.00.
