Database column type
« on: July 24, 2004, 01:30:21 am »
I must be missing somethingobvious. I cannot add datatypes to database table columns. The table-detail/add columns/attributes produces a dialog but the datatypes dropdown is empty. Usingthe configuration menu I can add MySQL datatypes (for example) but havew no way of saving them The dialog onlyt carries a Help and Cancel option. No datatypes are added. This is EA  4.10.731

What am I missing? :(

I found the answer. There is no information on the column dialog to do this. But the table dialog has an attribute 'database' (should be 'DBMS' which is how it is described in the help?). You select a database here and then the column types of that database are made available.  EA is a remarkable system at a stunning price  ... but it is hard to find one's way about.  Still  :D

You can also set a default DBMS... Tools | Options | Generation | Code Editors...
