Linux version problems
« on: August 09, 2004, 04:53:46 am »
Hello All,
I've been creating a logic diagram on ver 4.10.732 and keep getting
data access errors "Unrecognised database format Y:\ngl7.eap" when
opening a project and ":DAO Recordset [3343] Unrecognised database format Y:ngl7.eap" when opening class attributes.
Any ideas?
Bill

It is possible that the database type that is associated with the .EAP requires JET 4.0 rather than 3.5.

To change this go to the tools menu, select options. Then from the Local Options Dialog ensure that the Use JET 4.0 - requires restar option is checked.

I've done this and now get an error message when attempting to open
any database i.e. mine or EAExample - "Fatal Error Initializing DAO Library:
Try reinstalling Enterprise Achitect. If you still experience problems, please contact Sparx Systems support."

FYI when I loaded the MDAC 2.8 software using Crossover Office it does not show up in the list of installed software. I can see Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SP1 and Tools, DCOM95, and Enterprise Architect 4.10 - 30 Day Trial (LINUX). Your web page doesn't show this either so is this your experience?

Any further news on this? I need to know if it's
practical to run this on Linux as stated.  I like the feature set
available (compared to Visual Paradigm) but I don't want to be
entering a lot of UML and then lose it due to problems
with the MDAC components.
