Attaching a Task to an Object
« on: October 04, 2004, 03:57:29 pm »
I have been putting TODO notes directly into the notes area of objects in my diagrams.  In order to find all the TODO's I export to RTF and search for TODO:.   I love the TaskList in EA, but it does not give the ability to Tie to an object in my design, unless I am missing something.

Does anyone have a decent process for adding and tracking their TODO's in a design.

Hi,

we are not really using this feature, but you certainly cam assign tasks to an element. You need to open the window "Maintenance", then select an element in the diagram and in the Maintenance window create new "Defect", "Issue" or "Change". It will be automatically linked to the selected element.

Hope this helps!

However, note you can only attach maintenance items to elements not links
