Author Topic: Where is the "paste diagram" menu item? (Read 3489 times)

I have a diagram in one project that I would like to copy into another project. I've found how to "duplicate a diagram" in the manual which says to save or copy the diagram to the clipboard and then select "paste diagram" to make the copy.

I haven't been able to find any menu with a "paste diagram" entry. What am I missing?

Create a new diagram, open it, then Ctrl+V.

Yes, I should have mentinoned that I tried that, but it pasted a bunch of classes into the new diagram--none that were in my original "copied" diagram.

Actually, when I "pasted elements" from the edit menu is when the incorrect classes were pasted. If I use "crtl v" it says "An error occured locating the required object."

What do you mean by "another project"? Is it another repository or another (root) package?

If by project you mean an EAP file (or database repository) then you'll need to use XMI export on the package containing the diagram you're wanting to copy.

Yes it was a seperate EAP directory and I was able to succesfullly export/import the diagram. Thanks
