Font's too big in Linux
« on: January 12, 2005, 01:09:10 pm »
I just installed trial versions of EA under WindowXP and Linux.  I created a class digram from imported code on both platforms.  Under Linux the text is to big to fit it the box, as if the font was larger than expected.

I have the default font (arial) installed in crossover office; I tried switching to other fonts and had the same issue does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Which desktop are you using?  I have had similar problems in other Linux apps under KDE trying to  use windows fonts with apps built for the GTK.
Having said that - I never solved it - have to run Gnome if I need the app.

I was using KDE, but it also was happening in the printed version.  I'll try in Gnome and see what happens.

The same thing happens under Gnome.  I've seen this under two different systems running Suse 9.2 pro.

I'm getting the same (or a similar) issue under Fedora Core 3, using Gnome.

For me, anyway, EA seems to think that the text is located and sized properly, but it's actually drawn below where EA 'thinks' it is. That is to say, the selection/sizing box for the text is in the right place, but the text is drawn a couple heights below that

Yes, the text is spilling out of the bottom of the box.

I can reproduce it too. Debian SID, with crossover office 4 and wine 20040914 too. Is there any solution for the problem?

Hi,

I believe this problem will be resolved for the release of EA 4.51 - currently in beta.
